John Deere 522581.08 – CSM: Switch module button stuck

The controller has detected a button on the operator's control panel that is continuously depressed, jammed, or shorted closed.

   Perform a power cycle by turning the ignition switch off, waiting a few moments, and turning it back on to see if the code clears

   Visually and physically inspect all buttons on the CommandARM / Cab Switch Module for buttons that are physically stuck down, jammed by debris, or sticky from spilled liquids

   Check the CommandCenter display and follow any specific on-screen solutions or prompts before attempting hardware replacement

   Clean the Module

   If a button is physically sticking, use compressed air or a plastic-safe electrical contact cleaner to clear dirt, dust, or sticky residue from the edges of the buttons.

   Reset the System

   Cycle the tractor's power to clear the code.

   Replace or Rebuild the CSM

   If the button is permanently broken or the internal microswitch has failed (meaning the button feels fine but the module still reads it as stuck), remove the CommandARM trim panels, disconnect the CSM wiring harness, and replace the module. Note: Aftermarket mail-in repair services are also an option.
