522652.02

John Deere 522652.02 – Cab Module (TIA): Cab Module (TIA) Internal Issue

Issue description

The module has detected an internal hardware failure, memory corruption, or a software processing error that prevents it from functioning reliably. The ".02" extension typically denotes erratic, intermittent, or incorrect data.

Applies to these machines

  • 6110R
  • 6120R
  • 6130R
  • 6145R
  • 6155R
  • 6175R
  • 6195R
  • 6215R

Check the cause

  1. Verify that the tractor's battery voltage is within specification (12V system) and that the alternator is charging correctly.

  2. Inspect the power and ground circuits feeding the Cab Module for high resistance, corroded pins, or loose harness connections.

  3. Check the ISOBUS/CAN bus communication lines connected to the module for shorts or opens.

  4. Connect John Deere Service ADVISOR to check for any available software updates or payload reflashes for the TIA module.

  5. Clear the fault code, disconnect the battery for 15 minutes to perform a hard reset, and cycle the key to see if the fault returns immediately.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the tractor's negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts or spikes during removal.

  2. Access the Module

Locate the Cab Module (TIA) within the cab console/dash assembly (exact location varies slightly by specific 6R cab configuration).

  3. Remove Wiring

Carefully release the locking tabs and disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the module.

  4. Dismount

Remove the mounting screws or bolts securing the module to the cab frame and remove the faulty unit.

  5. Install New Module

Mount the replacement Cab Module and secure it with the original hardware.

  6. Reconnect

Reconnect the wiring harnesses, ensuring the connectors are fully seated and locked.

  7. Restore Power

    Reconnect the negative battery cable.

  8. Programming (Crucial)

Connect John Deere Service ADVISOR. The new module will be blank or locked and must be programmed to the tractor's VIN. You will also need to calibrate the Tractor-Implement Automation system and verify the TIA activation keys.

  9. Test

Clear any historical fault codes and perform a functional test of the ISOBUS/TIA system.
