John Deere 522916.03 – OIC: Remote Control Switch for E-SCVs, Voltage Too High
Issue description
The voltage at the remote control switch for the Electronic Selective Control Valves (E-SCVs) is exceeding the expected range, typically suggesting a short circuit to a supply lead in the switch's circuit.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the remote control switch on the rear fender/mudguard and its wiring harness for physical damage, loose connections, pinched wires, or corrosion.
Use a multimeter to measure the voltage at the remote control switch to verify if it is reading too high compared to the specified baseline.
Trace the wiring from the fender switch back to the cab module, inspecting specifically for a short circuit to a supply lead (power wire).
Verify that the OIC control software is updated to the latest version, as firmware updates can resolve voltage handling parameters.
Repair steps
Power Cycle
Turn the tractor's ignition key off, wait a few moments, and turn it back on to see if the code clears.
Repair Wiring
If the diagnostic checks revealed a short to a power lead or damaged wiring in the fender harness, repair or splice the affected wiring.
Replace the Switch
If the wiring is intact and the voltage at the switch is still out of range (indicating an internal short within the switch mechanism itself), remove the faulty external SCV switch from the fender housing and install a new one.
Clear Codes
After replacing the component or repairing the wire, cycle the ignition key or use the CommandCenter display to clear the diagnostic code.
Test Operation
Test the rear fender SCV buttons to ensure the hydraulic valves actuate properly and monitor the system to ensure the error code does not recur.
