John Deere 522916.04 – OIC (Operator Interface Console): Remote Control Switch for E-SCVs, Voltage Too Low
Issue description
The voltage at the remote control switch for the Electronic Selective Control Valves (E-SCVs) has dropped below the acceptable threshold, which typically suggests a short to ground in the switch or its wiring circuit. When this code is active, the control software disables the external switch, limiting or completely halting the remote operation of the SCVs.

Check the cause
Check the remote control switch for the E-SCVs (located on the rear mudguard/fender) and its wiring harness for signs of physical damage, loose connections, dirt, or corrosion.
Use a multimeter to measure the voltage at the remote control switch connector. Verify if the voltage is within the specified range or if it is dropping out.
Trace the wiring harness from the external SCV switch back to the junction block/cab module. Inspect specifically for any short circuits to ground along the supply lead.
Repair steps
Repair Wiring
If a short to ground or damaged wire is found during the diagnostic phase, repair the wiring harness or replace the damaged connector.
Replace the Switch
If the wiring is intact and the voltage drop is isolated to the switch itself (internal short), remove the faulty SCV switch from the fender housing and install a new one.
Software Update
Ensure that the OIC control software is updated to the latest version, as firmware updates can sometimes improve the handling of switch voltage levels.
Clear the Code
Many OIC codes can be cleared simply by cycling the tractor's ignition switch off and back on. Turn the key off, wait for the system to power down, and turn it back on to verify the error does not recur.
