   Restart the System: Power cycle the equipment to reset the control software and attempt to clear the EEPROM error. Observe the system to see if the error recurs.

   Run Diagnostic Tests: Connect a built-in diagnostic tool (such as John Deere Service Advisor or Jaltest) to identify and analyze the EEPROM error.

   Inspect Connections: Verify that the transmission control module is securely connected to the wiring harness and is free from physical damage or corrosion.

   Check for Firmware Updates: Check for and install any available firmware/software updates for the PTA control software, as this can sometimes resolve known EEPROM read/write issues.

   Power down and disconnect battery

   Power down the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety.

   Locate controller module

   Locate the PTA / IVT Transmission Controller module (location varies by cab configuration, often found behind the operator's seat or integrated into the right-hand console/CommandCenter).

   Disconnect wiring harnesses

   Disconnect the wiring harnesses from the faulty transmission controller.

   Remove faulty module

   Remove the mounting hardware and extract the faulty EEPROM/PTA module.

   Install new controller

   Install the new OEM transmission controller and secure the mounting hardware.

   Reconnect wiring harnesses

   Reconnect the wiring harnesses securely.

   Reconnect battery and power on

   Reconnect the battery and power on the tractor.

   Flash software and calibrate

   Connect John Deere Service Advisor to flash the latest software onto the new module and perform the mandatory IVT transmission calibration procedures.
