John Deere 523332.04 – PTD (Powertrain Module D): Forward Clutch Oil Pressure Sensor Voltage Too Low

   Visual Inspection: Locate the forward clutch oil pressure sensor on the DirectDrive transmission housing/valve block. Inspect the sensor's electrical connector for loose connections, backed-out pins, corrosion, or moisture ingress.

   Wiring Harness Check: Trace the wiring harness from the sensor back to the PTD module. Look for chafed, pinched, or broken wires that would cause an open circuit.

   Voltage/Continuity Testing: Using a multimeter, check for a 5V reference signal and a good ground at the sensor connector with the key on. Test the continuity of the signal wire from the sensor connector to the corresponding pin on the PTD module.

   Sensor Verification: If the wiring harness has perfect continuity and no shorts, the open circuit is likely internal to the sensor itself.

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, turn off the engine, and remove the key. Relieve any residual hydraulic/transmission pressure if required by the service manual.

   Clean the area around the forward clutch oil pressure sensor on the transmission to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.
