John Deere 523343.19 – SCC / SCO: Incorrect CAN Bus Message, Information from AIC Control Software
Issue description
The value of the multi-function lever (specifically function 3 / the trigger switch) cannot be determined and provided on the CAN Bus by the AIC (Armrest Interface Control) software. Because the system cannot read the actual position of the switch, a transmitted replacement value generates this diagnostic trouble code. When this fault is active, the selective control valves (SCVs) linked to the lever will be disabled and will not function.

Check the cause
Check for Priority Codes: Look for active AIC codes (e.g., AIC 521409.02 or AIC 521412.02) which take priority and indicate exactly which switch circuit failed.
Inspect CAN Bus and LIN Bus Wiring: Check all wiring connecting the Armrest Multi-Function Lever to the AIC and SCC modules for physical damage, loose connector pins, or corrosion.
Verify Multi-Function Lever Operation: Ensure the lever and its trigger switch are physically intact, not binding, and functioning correctly.
Test the CAN Bus Network: Verify proper communication to ensure the AIC is successfully broadcasting to the SCC.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and access the armrest control console.
Wiring Repair
Secure and repair any damaged CAN/LIN bus wiring or loose connections found during the diagnostic inspection.
Recalibration
If the wiring is intact, attempt to recalibrate the multi-function lever via the CommandCenter display.
Component Replacement
If calibration fails, or if the trigger switch is physically broken or internally shorted, replace the multi-function lever actuator or the armrest multi-function lever controller.
System Reset
Reassemble the armrest, turn the key switch to cycle power, and clear the stored SCC/SCO/AIC codes.
Operational Test
Perform a comprehensive test of the SCVs using the multi-function lever to verify that the CAN Bus message fault does not return and hydraulic functions are restored.
