Check the cause
Ensure the AutoTrac resume switch on the armrest is not physically stuck, jammed by debris, or being held down
Set the switch to the un-pressed (neutral/released) position to see if the system recovers on its own
Cycle the tractor's power (turn the ignition off, then back on) to see if the code clears
Use a multimeter to test the AutoTrac resume switch circuit for an open circuit or a short to 12 volts
Repair steps
Safety First
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the armrest electrical system.
Inspect the Switch
Examine the AutoTrac resume switch on the armrest console for physical damage. Clean the area around the switch if dirt or debris is causing it to stick.
Access the Harness
Carefully remove the armrest panel/bezel to access the wiring harness connected to the back of the AutoTrac resume switch.
Inspect Wiring
Check the wiring harness and connector for pinched wires, chafing, or disconnected pins that could cause an open circuit or short to 12V. Repair any damaged wiring.
Test the Switch
Test the switch continuity with a multimeter. If the switch is internally shorted or fails to open/close properly when toggled, it has failed.
Replace the Switch
Disconnect the faulty switch, unclip it from the armrest panel, and snap the new OEM replacement switch into place.
Reassemble and Test
Reconnect the wiring harness, reassemble the armrest panel, reconnect the battery, and cycle the key to verify the fault code 523349.03 has cleared and AutoTrac engages properly.
