Check the cause

  3. Check the Charging System: Inspect the alternator and charging system to ensure it is properly charging the battery while the engine is running.

  4. Check Fuses: Inspect the ECU power circuit fuses (often located near the battery compartment, such as F5005, F5006, and F5007 depending on the machine model) to ensure none are blown.

  5. Monitor Battery Usage (Parasitic Draw): Ensure that no electrical components are draining the battery excessively when the vehicle is turned off.

Repair steps

  1. Clean/Tighten Connections

    If corrosion or loose cables are found, clean the battery terminals and cable ends thoroughly with a wire brush, then tighten them securely.

  2. Recharge or Replace Battery

    If the battery voltage is low and fails a load test, recharge the battery fully. If it cannot hold a charge, replace the battery.

  3. Repair/Replace Charging Components

    If the alternator is failing to charge the battery, repair or replace the faulty alternator.

  4. Replace Fuses

    If an ECU power circuit fuse is blown, replace it with a fuse of the exact same amperage rating.

  5. Reset ECU and Monitor

    After resolving the voltage issue, reset the ECU (often done by cycling the key switch or using a diagnostic tool like Service ADVISOR) to clear the fault code. Monitor the system to ensure normal operation and verify the code does not return.
