John Deere 523745.04 – AIC (Armrest Interface Control Unit): Switch for iTEC™ Program Selection, Voltage Too Low
Issue description
The voltage signal coming from the iTEC program selection switch is lower than the expected operating range, resulting in limited or no function of the switch.

Check the cause
Cycle power by turning the tractor's ignition off and back on to see if the system recovers and clears the code.
Ensure the iTEC switch is not physically jammed, stuck, or held down by debris. Set the switch to the un-pressed/neutral position.
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading from the iTEC switch to the Armrest Interface Control Unit for pinched wires, corrosion, or loose pins that could cause a voltage drop.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.
Access the Armrest/Cab Module
Carefully remove the trim panels on the right-hand CommandArm / armrest console to expose the internal switch matrix and wiring.
Test the Circuit
Using a multimeter, test the voltage at the iTEC switch connector. Verify if the low voltage is due to a wiring harness issue (e.g., a short to ground or high resistance) or if the switch itself has failed internally.
Repair Wiring or Replace Switch
If the wiring is damaged, repair or replace the affected harness section. If the wiring is intact and providing proper reference voltage but the switch is failing to return the correct signal, replace the iTEC switch or the integrated armrest switch matrix.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reconnect the switch, reassemble the armrest console, reconnect the battery, and cycle the key to verify the 523745.04 code has cleared and iTEC functionality is restored.
