   Inspect the steering angle sensor and the steering control valve (A67) for proper installation, secure connections, and damaged wiring harnesses.

   Use Service ADVISOR to monitor the output of the steering angle sensor and the steering valve duty cycle, verifying accurate readings and correct voltage.

   Check for and install any available software updates for the XSC/SSU control module to address potential bugs or known calibration issues.

   Attempt Recalibration

   Attempt to recalibrate the steering angle sensor and the steering valve. The steering valve calibration must be performed in a controlled environment with the rear wheels off the ground.

   Clear and Retest

   Clear the fault code and cycle the steering system. If the code returns, the valve is physically stuck open or has failed internally.

   Replace the Valve

   If the condition persists after calibration and wiring checks, replace the steering control valve assembly (A67).

   Post-Repair Calibration

   After installing the new steering control valve, you must perform the steering system calibration procedure again to ensure accurate and reliable operation.
