John Deere 523804.02 – ACU, AIC, or CSM: Single Control Lever Lateral Detent Switch Circuit Fault

A circuit malfunction (such as a short, open circuit, or out-of-range voltage) in the sensor or switch that detects the side-to-side (lateral) movement of the multi-function joystick on the tractor's armrest, preventing the system from reliably determining the position of the joystick.

   Restart the tractor to see if the code is triggered by a temporary communication glitch and can be corrected by resetting the communication messages.

   Acknowledge the code by pressing the select switch on the CommandCenter to clear the display and return it to normal mode.

   If the code remains active, bypass for continued operation by using the standard SCV III and IV paddle controls.

   Disable the joystick manually in the CommandCenter / CommandARM settings menu.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the base of the joystick for pinched wires, loose pins, or debris that could cause a circuit fault.

   Unbolt the joystick bracket from the end of the CommandARM.

   Install the new Single-Lever Control assembly and secure the bracket.

   Reconnect the wiring harness and ensure the safety lockout switch (flap) is properly aligned.
