Check the cause
Inspect the wiring and connections for the solenoid circuit for any signs of a short, open circuit, or overheating.
Measure the current and voltage levels at the PTO speed 1 solenoid to ensure they are within the specified range.
Use diagnostic tools to test the solenoid for proper operation and verify if it is overheating.
Ensure that the PAP control software is updated to the latest version, as software patches may address circuit fault issues.
Repair steps
Wiring Repair
If the diagnostic checks reveal damaged wires or poor connections, repair or replace the affected wiring harness and connectors.
Solenoid Replacement
If the solenoid itself is found to be faulty, shorted, or overheating during testing, remove and replace the PTO Speed 1 Solenoid. (Note: Clean electrical connections thoroughly before installation and ensure proper connector engagement, as partial connections can cause intermittent faults).
Software Update
Apply any available patches or updates to the PAP control software.
Clear Codes and Retest
Clear the fault codes and operate the PTO to ensure the fault does not return and the current/voltage levels remain stable.
