Check the cause

  4. Ensure the physical alignment and mounting of the steering wheel position sensor are secure and correctly positioned.

  5. Check if the SSU/XSC software is up to date, as firmware updates can resolve signal processing anomalies.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

    Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.

  2. Clean and Re-seat Connectors

    Disconnect the Steering Wheel Position Sensor. Clean the pins with contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease. Reconnect and test the machine to see if the code clears.

  3. Test the Harness

    If the code persists, use a multimeter to test the continuity of the wiring harness from the sensor back to the XSC/SSU module. Repair any broken or chafed wires.

  4. Replace the Sensor

  5. Recalibrate and Clear Codes
