John Deere 523847.03 – SFA (Suspended Front Axle / Front Chassis Module): Solenoid valve for pressure build-up of the suspended front-wheel drive axle, Voltage too high.
Issue description
The controller has detected a voltage on the circuit for the front axle suspension's "pressure up" (raise) solenoid that exceeds the normal operating range. This is typically caused by a short to power in the wiring harness or an internal electrical failure within the solenoid coil itself.

Check the cause
Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the suspended front axle pressure build-up solenoid (located on the TLS/SFA manifold block) for damage, corrosion, or pinched wires.
Voltage Check: Use a multimeter to check the solenoid circuit for a short to battery voltage.
Resistance Test: Test the solenoid coil resistance to determine if it is internally shorted.
Module Power Supply: Check the SFA module supply voltage and related fuses (e.g., fuse F30) to ensure the module is receiving proper power and isn't causing erratic voltage readings.
Repair steps
Safety First
Support the front of the tractor safely. Crucial: Relieve all hydraulic system pressure before disconnecting any hydraulic lines or valves, as escaping high-pressure fluid can penetrate the skin and cause serious injury.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical connector from the pressure build-up solenoid on the front axle suspension manifold.
Remove
Unscrew and remove the faulty solenoid valve from the manifold block. Have a catch pan ready to collect any residual hydraulic fluid.
Install
Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean hydraulic oil and install it into the manifold. Tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical connector back into the new solenoid.
Test
Start the tractor, clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool or the onboard display, and test the front axle suspension operation (raising and lowering) to verify the repair.
