Check the cause

  1. Ensure the operator is firmly sitting in the operator's seat to properly depress the presence switch.

  2. Restart the tractor's engine to reset communication messages and clear the active diagnostic trouble code.

  3. Cycle the Front PTO switch (turn it off, then back on).

Repair steps

  1. Inspect the Seat Switch

Locate the operator presence switch under the driver's seat cushion.

  2. Check the Wiring Circuit

Inspect the wiring harness and connector leading to the seat switch for pinches, frays, or disconnected terminals.

  3. Test the Switch

Use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity when the seat is compressed. If the switch does not close/open the circuit properly when weight is applied, it has failed internally.

  4. Replace the Switch

Disconnect the electrical pigtail, unbolt or unclip the faulty switch from the seat base, and install the replacement switch.

  5. Clear Codes

Restart the vehicle, sit in the seat, and cycle the PTO switch to verify the PTF module now recognizes the operator's presence and the code is cleared.
