John Deere 523910.02 – HCC: Internal Issue Detected In Module / Control Unit Fault

Error when reading the internal module memory (EEPROM). Data associated with the control settings has been corrupted due to software bugs, power surges, or hardware failures, causing the system to disable the affected function or operate with restricted hitch features.

   Restart the system by cycling the tractor's key switch OFF and then back ON to clear temporary memory corruption

   Visually inspect the HCC control unit and its wiring harnesses for any signs of physical damage, moisture intrusion, or malfunction

   Ensure the batteries and alternator are functioning correctly without accumulated debris, as power surges or low voltage can cause EEPROM read errors

   Check if the HCC software is up to date, as updating to the latest software version can fix potential bugs causing data corruption

   Clear the Code

   Attempt to clear the code via the CommandCenter™ or diagnostic tool. Cycle the key switch.

   Reload Control Settings

   If the code returns, the internal configuration memory is invalid. You must reload the control settings for the HCC from a backup (if available via John Deere Service ADVISOR).

   Recalibrate the Hitch

   If the HCC 523910.02 code persists, you must have a dealer recalibrate the hitch system.

   Replace the Module

   If software updates, reloading settings, and calibration fail to resolve the EEPROM error, the internal hardware of the HCC is permanently damaged and the module must be replaced.
