John Deere 523923.02 – AIC (Armrest Interface Control Unit) or ACU (Armrest Control Unit): Problem With Switch For The Rear Hitch/SCV 1 / SCV I Control Lever Switch/Sensor Conflict

Issue description

A signal conflict or voltage problem coming from the Selective Control Valve (SCV) 1 control lever switch or sensor. The system detects that the inputs from the operator's control lever do not match expected parameters, which can disable the SCV 1 or rear hitch functions.

Check the cause

  1. Set the SCV I control lever to the neutral position to attempt an immediate system recovery.

  2. Go to the CommandARM display and temporarily disable the single lever control to see if normal operation of other functions returns.

  3. Cycle the key switch or restart the engine to verify if the active Service Code reappears, as sometimes the code can be corrected by resetting communication messages.

  4. Inspect the SCV I control lever switch and sensor circuit for damaged wires, loose connections, or corroded terminals.

  5. Test the sensor and SCV control switch for proper voltage and continuity to determine if the issue is in the wiring harness or the switch itself.

Repair steps

  1. Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine.

  2. Access the Armrest Control Unit (CommandARM) by removing the necessary trim panels to expose the SCV control levers and switches.

  3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the SCV I control lever switch/sensor.

  4. If diagnostic checks revealed a wiring short or break, repair the affected section of the harness.

  5. If the switch/sensor itself is faulty, remove the mounting hardware for the SCV I control lever switch and extract the faulty unit.

This is the most common cause for this specific conflict code.

  6. Install the new SCV I control lever switch/sensor and reconnect the wiring harness.

  7. Reassemble the CommandARM trim panels.

  8. Turn the ignition on and use the CommandCenter to acknowledge and clear the service code. Test the SCV I and rear hitch functions to ensure the conflict is resolved.
