523949.03

John Deere 523949.03 – CSC: High Voltage At Cab Suspension Raise Solenoid Rear Chassis (CSC)

Issue description

The control module detects that the voltage in the circuit for the solenoid valve responsible for raising the cab suspension is higher than the specified range, indicating a short to power in the wiring harness or an internal fault within the solenoid.

Applies to these machines

  • 6110R
  • 6120R
  • 6130R
  • 6145R
  • 6155R
  • 6175R
  • 6195R
  • 6215R
  • 8225R
  • 8245R
  • 8270R
  • 8295R
  • 8320R
  • 8335R
  • 8345R
  • 8370R
  • 8400R

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness routing from the CSC to the Cab Suspension Raise Solenoid for pinched wires, chafing, or exposed copper that could cause a short to power.

  2. Ensure all connectors in the circuit are secure, clean, and undamaged.

  3. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage and current in the solenoid valve circuit to verify if it is out of the specified range.

  4. Test the Cab Suspension Raise Solenoid coil resistance to determine if it has failed internally.

Repair steps

  1. Isolate the Circuit

Disconnect the battery or power down the machine safely before performing electrical repairs.

  2. Repair Wiring

If a short to power or damaged wiring is found during the diagnostic checks, repair the affected section of the wiring harness or replace the damaged connector.

  3. Replace the Solenoid

If the wiring is intact but the solenoid fails the multimeter test, remove and replace the defective Cab Suspension Raise Solenoid.

  4. Software/Calibration Check

Ensure the control software is correctly configured. In some cases, a cab suspension calibration may need to be performed after replacing suspension components.

  5. Clear Codes and Test

Reconnect power, clear the CSC fault codes, and perform functional tests of the cab suspension system to confirm the raise solenoid operates correctly and the code does not return.

Parts you might need
