523949.05

John Deere 523949.05 – CSC: Low Amp Draw At Cab Suspension Raise Solenoid

Issue description

The control unit has measured a current at the signal input of the solenoid valve for raising the cab suspension that is too low. This condition typically points to an open circuit or a loose connection, which prevents the solenoid valve from functioning properly. As a reaction, the control software may limit or completely disable the functionality of the cab suspension to prevent improper operation.

Check the cause

  1. Restart the tractor to verify if the active Diagnostic Trouble Code reappears, as resetting communication messages may clear it.

  2. Visually inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the cab suspension raise solenoid valve for open circuits, damaged/exposed wires, or loose connections.

  3. Use a multimeter to measure the current in the solenoid valve circuit to ensure it is within the specified range.

  4. Check the resistance of the solenoid coil to determine if the internal winding has failed (open circuit).

Repair steps

  1. Secure the Machine

Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the park brake, and turn off the engine.

  2. Repair Wiring

If the diagnostic checks revealed broken wires or loose pins in the connector leading to the CSC module or the solenoid, repair the harness or replace the connector as needed.

  3. Replace the Solenoid Valve

If the wiring is intact and the current draw is still too low (indicating a failed solenoid coil), remove the faulty cab suspension raise solenoid valve from the control block. Install the new OEM replacement solenoid valve.

  4. Review Software Settings

Ensure the control software is correctly configured to manage the solenoid valve's operation.

  5. Perform Functional Tests

After repairs, clear the codes, reset the system, and conduct comprehensive tests to confirm that the cab suspension raises and lowers correctly and that the solenoid is operating with appropriate current levels.
