523965.31

John Deere 523965.31 – SFA / TSC: Axle Has Not Reached Its Position / Activation of Manual Mode has Failed

Issue description

Triggered when manual leveling of the suspended front axle is activated, and the Triple Link Suspension (TLS) front-wheel drive axle fails to achieve the necessary hydraulic pressure (90 bar / 9000 kPa / 1305 psi) and cannot reach its level position within 30 seconds. When this error occurs, the front axle may not level correctly, leading to improper alignment and rough ride quality.

Check the cause

  1. Check for excessive front ballasting, as too much weight can physically prevent the hydraulic system from lifting the axle to the level position.

  2. Inspect the TLS Position Sensor (B53) wiring harness, pins, and connections for damage, corrosion, or shorts.

  3. Inspect the TLS Oil Pressure Sensor (B167) wiring and connections.

  4. Inspect the TLS hydraulic circuit, including physical lines and valves, for blockages, external leaks, or internal bypass issues that would prevent the system from building the required 90 bar of pressure.

Repair steps

  1. Adjust Ballast

If the tractor is over-ballasted, remove the excess weight and re-test the manual leveling function.

  2. Repair Wiring/Harnesses

If diagnostic checks reveal damaged wiring to either the B53 Position Sensor or B167 Pressure Sensor, repair the harness or replace the damaged connector pins.

  3. Replace Faulty Sensors

If the wiring is intact but the system still fails to read position or pressure correctly, replace the suspect sensor (B53 or B167).

  4. Address Hydraulic Failures

If sensors are functioning but pressure cannot be reached, inspect and replace the TLS raise/lower solenoid valves (Y66, Y67, Y68, Y69) or repair leaks in the hydraulic circuit.

  5. Recalibrate

After replacing any suspension sensors or hydraulic components, you must perform a TLS system calibration using the tractor's diagnostic interface to relearn the top, bottom, and level positions.

Parts you might need

(5)
  • TLS Axle Position Sensor (B53)
