Check the cause
Check the Fuse Panel (Load Center) to see if the 'Come Home' fuse is currently installed (it should not be installed unless forcing the vehicle into Come-Home mode)
Check the Come-Home Connector (e.g., K10/2 or K10/4 plug) to verify if it has been manually engaged
Check for underlying fault codes on the display for other active PowrQuad/IVT transmission codes that may have necessitated the manual override
Repair steps
Park the tractor safely and turn off the engine.
Locate the tractor's load center (fuse panel).
Usually located behind the operator's seat or under the right-hand console.
Remove the Come-Home fuse or disconnect the Come-Home connector.
Restart the engine.
The official John Deere operator action for code 523966.11 is simply Restart to clear the mode and attempt to return to normal electronic control.
Operate the vehicle for 5 minutes.
If the code returns or the tractor refuses to move, the transmission has a hard fault that is forcing the system offline, and you must diagnose the other active DTCs.
Parts you might need
(1)Standard Automotive Blade Fuse (ATO/ATC)
The required amperage depends on the specific tractor model's load center legend (often a 10A, 20A, or 30A fuse). Refer to the fuse panel diagram on the specific machine.
