John Deere 523973.07 – CSC: The Cab Suspension Has Not Levelled When The Tractor Is Driving / Cab Suspension Center Position Out of Adjustment

Issue description

This error code is triggered when the cab suspension fails to reach its target level position within five minutes while the tractor is traveling at speeds above 10 km/h (6 mph). This condition typically indicates a fault in the raise/lower solenoid valves, a failure in the bleeding process, or a malfunctioning position sensor.

Check the cause

  1. Check for related active CSC codes, especially those related to the cab suspension position sensor (e.g., 523973.02, 523973.03, 523973.04), as a faulty sensor reading will prevent leveling.

  2. Inspect the raise/lower solenoid valves on the cab suspension control block for any mechanical faults, sticking, or malfunctions that could prevent the cab from reaching the level position.

  3. Verify all electrical connections and wiring harnesses to the solenoid valves and the position sensor are secure, free from corrosion, and undamaged.

  4. Use a diagnostic tool (such as John Deere Service Advisor) to measure the performance of the solenoid valves and verify that the cab suspension system is receiving the correct voltage/current.

Repair steps

  1. Resolve Electrical/Sensor Issues

Repair any damaged wiring or replace the cab suspension position sensor if it is providing erratic or out-of-range voltage readings.

  2. Replace Faulty Valves

If the electrical circuit is intact but the suspension still will not raise/lower properly, depressurize the cab suspension system and replace the faulty raise/lower solenoid valve(s) on the control block.

  3. Bleed the System

After replacing any hydraulic components, restart and complete the cab suspension bleeding process.

  4. Perform System Calibration

Once repairs and bleeding are complete, use the diagnostic tool to perform a full cab suspension calibration. This ensures the controller learns the new sensor values and that the cab reaches the center level position within the target time.

Parts you might need

(4)
  • Cab Suspension Solenoid Valve

    AL118621

Common on 7R and 8R series. Mounts directly to the hydraulic cab suspension (HCS) control block.
