Issue description

Triggered when the active front axle suspension system fails to reach the commanded maximum hydraulic pressure target of 185 bar (18,500 kPa or 2,683 psi) during the system's oil pressure sensor check.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the TLS Oil Pressure Sensor (B167) signal output to ensure it is reading pressure accurately and operating within the expected voltage range.

  2. Examine the wiring harness and connectors for the B167 sensor for any signs of physical damage, loose connections, or corrosion.

  3. Check the hydraulic circuit for the front axle suspension for any signs of blockages, internal/external leaks, or a failing hydraulic pump that would prevent the system from building 185 bar of pressure.

  4. Test the operation of the TLS solenoid valves located on the control block, specifically the valves for pressure build-up (Y69) and pressure reduction (Y68), to ensure they are not sticking or failing under load.

Repair steps

  1. Repair Wiring

    If the diagnostic checks reveal damaged wiring or corroded pins at the B167 sensor connector, repair or replace the affected harness section.

  2. Replace Faulty Components

    If the wiring is intact but the B167 sensor fails the voltage output test, replace the TLS oil pressure sensor. If the sensor is good but pressure is physically not being achieved, replace the faulty TLS pressure build-up solenoid valve (Y69) or repair the hydraulic leak.

  3. Bleed the System

    If hydraulic lines were opened or valves replaced, bleed the TLS hydraulic circuit according to the service manual.

  4. Recalibrate the TLS System

    After repairs, you must run the TLS system calibration process (using John Deere Service ADVISOR or the tractor's CommandCenter display) to ensure the module learns the correct pressure readings and suspension travel limits.
