523975.04

John Deere 523975.04 – TSC (Tractor Steering Control) or SFA (Suspended Front Axle): TLS Axle All the Way Up, Voltage Too Low (During Calibration)

Issue description

This diagnostic trouble code is triggered during the calibration or bleeding process when the control unit detects that the voltage at the signal output of the TLS (Triple Link Suspension) position sensor (B53) is too low (less than 3.5 volts) while the front-wheel drive axle is at its maximum top position.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the Sensor Circuit: Examine the wiring harness and connectors leading to the TLS position sensor (B53) for any signs of damage, loose connections, shorts to ground, or corrosion.

  2. Check Sensor Output Voltage: Using a multimeter or diagnostic tool, verify the signal output of the TLS position sensor (B53). You need to confirm if the voltage is actually dropping below 3.5 volts when the axle is physically at its top position.

  3. Verify Calibration Conditions: Ensure that the correct calibration procedure is being followed according to the manufacturer's instructions (e.g., correct engine speed, tractor is completely stationary, and hydraulic fluid is at operating temperature).

Repair steps

  1. Repair Wiring

If the diagnostic checks reveal damaged wiring or corroded pins in the B53 sensor circuit, repair or replace the affected harness sections.

  2. Replace the Sensor

If the wiring is intact but the sensor fails to output the required voltage (3.5V or higher) when the axle is fully raised, the B53 TLS position sensor has failed internally and must be replaced.

  3. Recalibrate the System

After repairing the circuit or replacing the sensor, you must run the TLS system calibration process again via the tractor's display or diagnostic service tool to ensure accurate positioning and to clear the fault code.
