523975.13

John Deere 523975.13 – TSC or SFA: TLS Axle in Level Position, Voltage Out of Range (During Calibration)

Issue description

This diagnostic trouble code is triggered when, at the end of the calibration or bleeding process, the control unit detects that the level position voltage at the TLS (Triple Link Suspension) position sensor (B53) is out of the acceptable range. Specifically, the sensor's signal output is not reading between the required 2 and 3 volts when the front-wheel drive axle is in its level position.

Check the cause

  1. Verify that the proper TLS calibration and bleeding procedures are being followed, as this code occurs at the end of calibration

  2. Monitor the signal output of the TLS position sensor (B53) using a multimeter or diagnostic tool (must be between 2 and 3 volts when the axle is level)

  3. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors for the TLS position sensor (B53) for physical damage, loose connections, shorts, or open circuits

Repair steps

  1. Inspect and Clean

Locate the TLS position sensor (B53) on the front axle suspension linkage. Disconnect the sensor and inspect the connector pins for corrosion or moisture. Clean and reconnect if necessary.

  2. Adjust the Sensor

If the wiring is intact, verify the physical mounting and linkage of the TLS position sensor. Adjust the sensor mounting so that the voltage reads exactly between 2.0V and 3.0V when the axle is mechanically sitting in the level position.

  3. Replace the Sensor

If the sensor cannot be adjusted to fall within the 2-3 volt range, or if it has an internal short/open circuit, remove the mounting hardware and replace the TLS position sensor (B53).

  4. Recalibrate

After adjusting or replacing the sensor, you must perform the TLS calibration/bleeding procedure again to clear the code and allow the TSC/SFA module to relearn the axle's level position.
