Issue description

The control unit is receiving a voltage signal from the Triple Link Suspension (TLS) position sensor (B53) that exceeds the normal operating parameters. Check the cause

  1. Inspect the B53 sensor (located on the front axle suspension linkage) and its wiring harness connector for physical damage, corrosion, or debris.

  2. Test the wiring harness between the B53 sensor and the TSC/SFA control unit for a short to power on the signal circuit or an open circuit on the ground wire.

  3. Verify that the 5-volt reference power supply to the TLS sensors is functioning correctly and is not shorted.

  4. Using a diagnostic scanner, monitor the live voltage data from the B53 sensor to see if the voltage is pegged high statically or if it fluctuates erratically when the suspension is manually actuated.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

    Park the tractor on a level surface, lower any attached implements, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine. Ensure the front suspension is safely supported if you need to relieve pressure.

  2. Harness Repair

    If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken ground wire or a shorted signal wire in the harness, repair the affected section of the wiring or replace the connector pigtail.

  3. Sensor Removal

    If the wiring tests perfectly, the B53 sensor has failed internally. Disconnect the electrical connector from the TLS position sensor.

  4. Dismounting

    Remove the mounting hardware/linkage securing the sensor to the axle housing and remove the faulty sensor.

  5. Installation

    Install the new TLS position sensor and secure it with the mounting hardware. Reconnect the linkage.

  6. Reconnection

    Plug the electrical harness back into the new sensor, ensuring the connector clicks and locks into place.

  7. Calibration

    Clear the 523976.03 fault code. You must perform a TLS calibration procedure using a diagnostic tool so the control unit can learn the new sensor's base voltage for the axle's level position.
