John Deere 524016.04 – CCU: CCU Switched Supply Voltage Low
Issue description
The control unit has detected that the switched supply voltage (wake-up voltage) coming from the Cab Load Center (CLC) is below the normal operating range (12.5 to 14.5 volts). This low voltage condition can degrade the function of various sensors and systems powered by this input.

Check the cause
Check for Associated Codes: Look for associated CLC (Cab Load Center) codes, such as CLC 000158.01. If present, diagnose the CLC first, as it supplies the wake-up voltage to the CCU.
Visual Inspection: Visually inspect around the batteries and alternator for any signs of damage, corrosion, or accumulated debris.
Voltage Testing: Use a multimeter to verify battery voltage and alternator output. The system requires 12.5V to 14.5V to operate without throwing this code.
Grounds and Wiring: Check the main ground connections (especially the main ground between the cab and the engine/chassis) to ensure they are clean and tight. Inspect the wiring harness between the Cab Load Center and the Chassis Control Unit for shorts or breaks.
Fuses: Check the fuses in the Cab Load Center / Vehicle Load Center (specific fuse numbers like F24, F29, or F30 depend on the exact tractor model and options).
Repair steps
Clean Power Supply
Clean all battery terminals and tighten the main chassis ground connections.
Replace Fuses
Replace any blown fuses in the Cab Load Center.
Repair Wiring
If continuity testing reveals a break or high resistance in the wiring harness between the CLC and CCU, repair or replace the affected harness section.
Address Charging System
If the alternator is failing to maintain at least 12.5V under load, replace the alternator or batteries as necessary.
Module Replacement
If the wiring, grounds, and charging system are perfect but the CLC is failing to output the wake-up voltage, replace the Cab Load Center. If the CLC is outputting the correct voltage but the CCU is not reading it, replace the Chassis Control Unit.
Recalibrate and Clear
Clear the active fault codes, restart the tractor, and operate it to verify the code does not return.
