John Deere 524101.02 – ACU (Armrest Control Unit) / AIC (Armrest Integrated Controller): SCV VI Control Lever Switch/Sensor Circuit Conflict
Issue description
A signal discrepancy within the Selective Control Valve (SCV) system for Valve 6 (or the front implement hitch). The controller has detected that the physical detent switch on the control lever does not match the sensor voltage readings coming from the electronic SCV (E-SCV) position sensor, preventing the system from determining the true intended position of the lever.

Check the cause
Restart the tractor's engine to perform a system reset, which may clear communication message errors
Press the select switch on the CommandCenter to acknowledge the alert and see if normal function returns
Check for related ACU/AIC voltage codes (e.g., 524101.03 for short to power, 524101.04 for short to ground/open circuit)
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the SCV VI / Front Hitch control lever and the Armrest Control Unit for pinched wires, corrosion, or loose pins
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the CAN Bus/electrical system.
Access the CommandARM
Remove the necessary trim panels on the CommandARM console to access the base of the SCV control levers.
Disconnect the Harness
Unplug the electrical connector specifically routed to the SCV VI (or Front Hitch) control lever.
Test the Circuit
Use a multimeter to verify continuity between the lever connector and the ACU/AIC module to definitively rule out a harness issue.
Remove the Faulty Lever
Remove the mounting screws/bracket holding the SCV VI control lever assembly in place and extract the unit.
Install the Replacement
Seat the new SCV control lever into the console bracket, secure the mounting hardware, and plug in the electrical connector.
Reassemble and Test
Reinstall the CommandARM trim panels, reconnect the battery, and start the tractor.
Calibration
Test the SCV VI / Front Hitch operation. Note: Depending on the exact tractor model, a new electro-hydraulic lever may require calibration via John Deere Service ADVISOR software to sync the new sensor voltages with the ACU.
