524102.02

John Deere 524102.02 – ACU (Armrest Control Unit) / AIC (Armrest Interface Control / Cab Module): SCV V Control Lever Switch/Sensor Circuit Conflict

Issue description

The signal voltage coming from the Selective Control Valve (SCV) switch does not match the expected SCV valve position signal for Valve #5. The control unit is detecting a mismatch between the physical position of the SCV 5 control lever (or its switch) and the electrical voltage reading being sent by the sensor. This is typically caused by a failing potentiometer/sensor in the lever, a damaged wiring harness, or an internal electrical fault.

Check the cause

  1. Set the SCV V control lever to the neutral position to attempt an immediate system recovery

  2. Restart the engine to verify if the active Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) reappears, which can reset communication messages

  3. Cycle the PTO switch and restart the engine to attempt a secondary vehicle recovery

  4. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the SCV V control lever on the armrest for signs of damage, accumulated debris, or loose connections

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery

This prevents electrical shorts during the repair.

  2. Access the Armrest Control Unit (ACU) / CommandARM console

Remove the side or top trim panels of the armrest where the SCV levers are housed.

  3. Locate the SCV V control lever assembly

Identify the specific assembly for SCV V.

  4. Remove the retaining screws

Remove the screws holding the specific SCV V switch/lever in place.

  5. Unplug the wiring harness connector

Carefully unplug the connector from the bottom of the SCV V lever sensor.

  6. Install the new SCV control lever assembly

Position the new assembly and plug in the wiring harness.

  7. Reinstall the retaining screws and reassemble the armrest console trim

Secure the lever and replace the trim panels.

  8. Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and clear the stored codes

Clear codes via the CommandCenter display and test the SCV V operation to ensure the fault does not return.
