The system has detected a conflict between the "neutral" signal and the "not neutral" (in-gear) signal coming from the shuttle lever (reverser lever). The controller is receiving simultaneous or erratic inputs indicating the lever is both in neutral and in gear at the same time, or neither. As a safety reaction, the control unit will typically disable certain transmission functionalities to prevent unintended movement, and a warning message will be displayed to the operator.

   Check the PTR module for other active diagnostic trouble codes (such as 524021.31) that might help isolate the issue

   Verify that the PTR control unit software is up-to-date, as patches are sometimes released to address signal sensitivity

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Lever

   Remove the plastic steering column shrouds/cowling to expose the base of the left-hand PowrReverser steering column control lever.

   Unplug the electrical connector linking the shuttle lever to the main tractor harness.
