Check the cause

  1. Acknowledge the code on the CommandCenter display and restart the tractor's engine to rule out a temporary communication glitch.

  2. Visually inspect the left brake pedal switch/sensor for physical damage.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector leading to the left brake pedal switch for defective, disconnected, or corroded wiring.

  4. Test the left brake pedal switch/sensor for proper voltage and continuity to determine if the sensor itself has failed internally or if the issue is strictly wiring-related.

Repair steps

  1. Prepare machine

Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine.

  2. Access linkage

Access the brake pedal linkage assembly under the cab console/dash.

  3. Locate sensor

Locate the left brake pedal switch/position sensor.

  4. Clean connector

Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor. Clean the connector pins with electronic contact cleaner if dirt or corrosion is present.

  5. Repair wiring

If the wiring harness is damaged (e.g., rubbed through or pinched), repair the affected section of the harness using OEM-approved wiring repair methods.

  6. Remove sensor

If the wiring is intact but the sensor failed diagnostic testing, remove the mounting hardware securing the left brake pedal switch/sensor.

  7. Install sensor

Install the replacement left brake pedal switch/sensor and secure it with the mounting hardware.

  8. Reconnect connector

Reconnect the electrical connector, ensuring it clicks firmly into place.

  9. Verify repair

Turn the key to the ON position, clear any stored fault codes in the CommandCenter, and depress the left brake pedal several times to verify the code does not return and the system registers the pedal movement.
