John Deere 524173.14 – PTR (Power Train Reverser): Main Control Module Has Noted An Issue With The Signals From The Clutch Pedal Position Sensor

   Inspect the clutch pedal position sensor (potentiometer) for physical damage, misalignment, or a disconnected linkage/ball stud.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the clutch pedal position sensor. Ensure all connections are tight and free from corrosion, moisture, chafing, or short circuits.

   Use a multimeter to test the sensor circuitry for proper voltage and continuity. Ensure there are no open or short circuits causing the signal to drop out.

   Check the PTR control unit for any other active diagnostic trouble codes (such as 524173.15, .16, or .17) which indicate specific high/low voltage failures on the same circuit.

   Ensure the PTR control unit software is up-to-date with the latest manufacturer patches.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the battery negative (—) cable to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Sensor

   Remove the center control console cover to access the clutch pedal assembly.

   Disconnect the wire connector (A) from the clutch pedal position sensor.

   Detach Linkage
