John Deere 524174.19 – TCU (Transmission Control Unit): Missing Info On The CAN BUS, Transmission Module IVT (PTA) / Incorrect CAN BUS Message, Park Lock Activation from UIC
Issue description
The User Interface Control Unit (UIC) is unable to determine the value for the park lock activation (DPLS). Because the UIC cannot read this status, it cannot provide the CAN BUS with the relevant data. A default replacement value is transmitted instead, which triggers this diagnostic trouble code.

Check the cause
Inspect the Reverse Drive Lever: Ensure the lever is in the correct position and that the sensor detecting the park position is functioning properly.
Verify the Park Lock Mechanism: Check the physical park lock mechanism to ensure it is engaging/disengaging correctly and is not physically stuck or damaged.
Check for Calibration Errors: Note that this code can sometimes be generated by mistake during a transmission calibration.
Examine Wiring and Connectors: Inspect all wiring and connectors associated with the park lock system, the UIC, and the CAN BUS for damage, chafing, or corrosion.
Check CAN BUS Communication: Verify that the CAN BUS is transmitting data properly between the UIC and the TCU without interruptions.

If the code was generated during a recent transmission calibration, clear the code, reset the calibration process, and ensure it is performed correctly from start to finish.
Visual & Physical Inspection
Inspect the reverse drive lever and the physical park lock mechanism for any physical obstructions, binding, or damage.
Test the Park Lock Sensor
