John Deere 524193.14 – PTD, UIC, TIA: Transmission Oil Temperature Too Low. Automatic Warm Up. Transmission Will Not Function Until Oil Is Over -15C/5F.

This is an information code indicating the transmission oil temperature has dropped below -15°C (5°F). The control software disables normal transmission functions and activates an automatic warm-up routine to protect the system. The vehicle will not drive until the oil is sufficiently warmed.

   Verify ambient temperature to confirm if the tractor is actually operating in extreme cold (below -15°C / 5°F). If so, this code is normal.

   Check the gear selector position to ensure the reverse drive lever is in the Park position, which is required to activate the warm-up routine.

   If operating in warm weather (sensor/wiring failure cause): Check the Transmission Oil Temperature Sensor (Sensor B6) and its wiring harness for faults, opens, or shorts causing an artificially low temperature reading.

   Start engine

   If operating in extreme cold (Normal Operation), start the tractor's engine.

   Shift to Park

   Shift the reverse drive lever into the Park position.

   Allow warm-up

   Allow the automatic warm-up routine to run. During this routine, the control software will automatically cycle the transmission's clutches, gears, and ranges to generate heat.

   Do not attempt to drive or use implement functions. The vehicle will remain immobilized until the oil temperature exceeds -15°C (5°F). Once the oil is warm, the code will clear, and normal operation can resume.

   Locate sensor

   If operating in warm weather (Sensor/Wiring Failure), locate the Transmission Oil Temperature Sensor (Sensor B6) on the transmission housing.
