   Perform a test of the Power Supply Circuit and Ground Circuit to the CCU/SFA to ensure the module is receiving adequate voltage to boot up

   Test the 5-Volt Supply Voltage Circuit originating from the module to ensure it is not being shorted to ground by a faulty sensor

   Use a multimeter to test the CAN bus network for the presence of terminating resistors (should read approximately 60 ohms across CAN High and CAN Low when powered off)

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the CCU/SFA for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture, which can crash the CAN bus

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the tractor's negative battery cable to prevent electrical arcing.

   Locate module

   Locate the CCU or SFA module (location varies by cab/chassis configuration).

   Disconnect harness

   Carefully disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the module.

   Remove module

   Remove the mounting hardware securing the module to the chassis/cab and remove the faulty unit.

   Reconnect harness

   Reconnect battery

   Connect John Deere Service ADVISOR to program the module with the tractor's specific configuration data and calibrate the control software.
