Check the cause
Restart the tractor engine to verify if the active Diagnostic Trouble Code reappears, as this can sometimes reset communication messages.
Acknowledge the Service Alert and clear the display by pressing the select switch on the CommandCenter.
Perform a circuit/harness test on the Front PTO Switch (test S06) to rule out damaged wiring or a loose connector before replacing the switch.
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Disconnect the battery ground to prevent electrical shorts.
Access switch
Access the Front PTO switch. Depending on the tractor configuration, this requires disassembling the armrest (by removing the bolts at the bottom) or removing the shift console trim ring and console covers.
Remove switch hardware
Remove the knob cap and snap ring securing the switch.
Disconnect harness
Disconnect the 3-pole compact plug/cable harness from the faulty switch.
Install new switch
Install the new Front PTO switch and reconnect the cable harness.
Reassemble components
Reassemble the armrest or console covers.
Test system
Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and test the Front PTO engagement to ensure the code is cleared.
