John Deere 524218.19 – CCU: Park Position Signal Fault

The park position signal cannot be determined and provided on the CAN bus by the transmission control software (PTA, PTQ, or PTD). A replacement value is transmitted over the CAN bus, triggering this fault code. This causes the rear PTO functionality to be significantly limited or entirely non-functional.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors associated with the park position sensor for signs of physical damage, corrosion, or loose connections.

   Use a multimeter or diagnostic tool to test the park position sensor for proper operation and continuity.

   Use John Deere Service ADVISOR to test the CAN bus communication (500 kBd) for irregularities. Ensure that all CAN messages from the PTA, PTQ, or PTD control software are being correctly transmitted and received by the RPT control software.

   If the diagnostic checks reveal an open circuit, short, or corrosion in the harness, repair or replace the damaged wires and connectors.
