John Deere 524230.07 – PTR, PTQ, or PTI: Main Control Module Has Noted An Issue With The Enable Trans Pressure

The control unit has detected that the transmission enable valve is stuck (either mechanically stuck open/closed) or is not functioning due to a loss of pressure.    Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the clutch enable solenoid and the clutch enable pressure sensor for damage or disconnection caused by field debris.

   Perform a clutch enable pressure test at the clutch enable pressure sensor location (if pressure stays at 0, the clutch enable solenoid is likely not being energized due to a poor electrical connection).

   Test the clutch enable solenoid coil resistance using a multimeter (a healthy coil typically reads approximately 7.2 ohms).

   Verify the voltage of the clutch enable pressure sensor (normal operating range is 0.00–5.00 Volts; typically ~0.49V with the engine off and ~3.3V with the engine on).

   Secure the Machine

   Place the tractor in Park and shut off the engine.

   Repair Wiring

   If the visual inspection reveals wires that have been pulled out of the clutch enable solenoid or pressure sensor connectors, repair the wiring harness or splice in a new pigtail connector.

   Replace the Solenoid/Sensor

   If the wiring is intact but the solenoid fails the resistance test or the sensor fails the voltage test, replace the faulty electrical component.

   Inspect the Enable Valve

   If the electrical circuits, solenoid, and sensor are all functioning perfectly, the enable valve itself is mechanically stuck. Remove the enable valve from the transmission valve body, inspect it for scoring or debris, and clean or replace the valve.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Restart the engine. Sometimes the code can be corrected by resetting the communication messages when the tractor is restarted. Test drive the tractor to ensure the transmission engages properly and the code does not return.
