Check the cause
Perform a hard reset by cycling the ignition key switch off, waiting a few moments, and turning it back on to clear potential software glitches.
Inspect the wiring harnesses and CAN BUS connectors leading to the affected module (TIA, UIC, or FCC) for signs of physical damage, corrosion, or loose pins.
Check the current software version of the module using John Deere Service Advisor, as outdated or corrupted software is the most common culprit.
Repair steps
Power Cycle
Turn off the tractor and restart it to see if the code is an active or stored (inactive) fault.
Visual Inspection
If the code remains active, physically inspect the wiring harness at the module for any shorts or poor grounds that could cause the module to malfunction internally.
Software Update/Reflash
Connect John Deere Service Advisor. Perform a software update or reflash the control software for the affected module (TIA, UIC, or FCC) to the latest version. This resolves the "Control Software Internal Fault" in most cases.
Module Replacement
If the software update fails, or if the code immediately returns after a successful reflash, the internal hardware of the control unit has failed. The module must be replaced and programmed to the tractor.
