   Perform a power cycle/hard reset by turning off the ignition, disconnecting the battery power supply to the control unit for a few minutes, and reconnecting to clear temporary watchdog timer faults.

   Visually inspect the batteries and alternator for damage, corrosion, or accumulated debris, as voltage irregularities can cause the CCU to log internal errors.

   Check the specific fuses powering the CCU (unswitched and switched power fuses) to ensure the module is receiving steady voltage.

   Locate the CCU and inspect it for obvious signs of damage, such as burnt components, loose connections, or moisture ingress. Ensure all wiring harness connectors are properly seated and free of debris.

   Verify with a dealer if a software update is available to patch known stability issues, especially if the code was generated immediately after a module was reprogrammed.

   Restart and Verify

   Restart the tractor and check if the code returns. If the code clears and full functionality returns, it was likely a temporary timing issue.

   Clean Connections

   If the code persists, disconnect the CCU wiring harnesses. Spray the pins with electrical contact cleaner, check for bent pins, and reconnect securely.

   Dealer Software Flash

   If the wiring is sound, contact a John Deere dealer to attempt a software re-flash.

   Replace the CCU

   If the module has a hard internal EEPROM failure and cannot be flashed or reset, the CCU must be replaced.

   Calibration

   A John Deere dealer must use Service ADVISOR to program the new module to the tractor's specific configuration and calibrate associated systems (like the transmission, PTO, and hitch).
