   Verify if the code is active or stored. Clear the code and cycle the key to see if the memory error returns.

   Check the power supply and ground connections to the ECU. Voltage spikes or drops can cause temporary memory read/write errors.

   Inspect wiring harness

   Disconnect the battery and inspect the wiring harness connecting to the ECU for corrosion or damage.

   Re-flash/reprogram ECU

   Reconnect and attempt to re-flash/reprogram the ECU with updated software via John Deere Service ADVISOR, as the factory settings may have simply failed to store.

   Replace ECU

   If the code remains active after a software flash, the EEPROM is physically damaged, and the ECU must be replaced.
