   Power Cycle: Turn the key switch off, wait for the system to power down completely, and cycle the tractor power to see if the code clears.

   Voltage Check: Check the battery and alternator voltage. Low voltage (or voltage spikes) can cause memory write errors or trigger internal module faults. Ensure the power supply and ground circuits to the FCC are clean and tight.

   Check for Accompanying Codes: Look for other CAN BUS communication errors (such as FCC 000639.12 or FCC 000639.14) which might indicate a network issue rather than a strictly internal module failure.

   Software Verification: Check if the module is stuck in programming mode or if the software configuration is corrupted.

   Reboot the System

   Turn the machine off, remove the key, and let the CAN network go to sleep. Restart the machine. If the code moves from 'Active' to 'Stored,' clear the code and test-operate the machine.

   Inspect Wiring

   If the code remains active, inspect the wiring harness connecting to the Front Console Control Unit for chafing, corrosion, or loose pins.

   Reprogram the Module

   Connect a diagnostic tool (such as John Deere Service ADVISOR or the new Operations Center PRO Service tool) to the machine. Attempt to re-flash or update the software on the FCC module.

   Replace the Module

   If the EEPROM memory is permanently damaged (the fault is stable and cannot be cleared or reprogrammed), the internal hardware has failed. You must remove the defective FCC module from the front console/dash area and install a replacement.

   Calibrate

   After installing a new FCC module, use the diagnostic tool to push the machine's configuration data to the new module and calibrate the steering/drive levers.
