John Deere 630.13 – FCC: Calibration Memory - Out of Calibration
Issue description
This code is an informational fault indicating that a specific control module has lost its calibration data, has incomplete calibration values stored, or has just been replaced/reprogrammed and requires an initial calibration to function properly.
Applies to these machines
15 machines- 6110M
- 6120M
- 6130M
- 6145M
- 6155M
- 6175M
- 6195M
- 5M Series
- 6M Series
- 6R Series
- 7R Series
- 8R/8RT Series
- 9R/9RT Series
- STS Series (e.g., 9570, 9670, 9770, 9870)
- Sprayers & Applicators utilizing the Rate Controller 2000
Check the cause
Verify the exact three-letter prefix on the CommandCenter display to confirm which module is asking for calibration (e.g., FCC)
Check for active codes related to supply voltage (e.g., SPN 158 or 168) indicating a weak battery, poor ground, or blown fuse
Ensure there are no active SPN 639 (CAN Bus) codes that would prevent network communication
Determine if the module was recently replaced, updated with new payload software, or if the tractor was split for repairs
Repair steps
Prepare the Machine
Park the machine on a level surface. Ensure the battery voltage is stable (above 12V) and the engine is running or in the key-ON position as required by the specific module's parameters.
Access the Calibration Menu
Using the CommandCenter display, navigate to Menu > Message Center > Trouble Codes (or the specific module's setup page).
Initiate Calibration
Select the module (e.g., FCC, PTI, or HCU) and select 'Begin Calibration'.
Follow On-Screen Prompts
The display will guide you through the specific steps (e.g., cycle through switch positions, auto-calibration of hydro unit, or drive in a straight line).
Save and Reboot
Once the display indicates the calibration is successful, cycle the key switch (turn off, wait 10 seconds, turn back on) to ensure the calibration values are saved to the module's non-volatile memory and the 000630.13 code clears.
Dealer Intervention
If the calibration repeatedly fails or the code returns immediately after a key cycle, the module's internal memory has failed, and John Deere Service ADVISOR software will be required to re-flash or replace the unit.
Parts you might need
(3)Front Console Control (FCC) Unit / Cab Control Unit
If the prefix is FCC and the module has suffered an internal memory failure and will not accept calibration.
Transmission Control Unit (TCU)
If the prefix points to the transmission system and the module will not accept calibration.
Hitch Control Unit (HCU)
If the prefix points to the hitch system and the module will not accept calibration.
