Issue description

Check the cause

  1. Restart the engine to see if the active DTC reappears, as it can sometimes be triggered by a temporary communication message error.

  2. Check recent service history to see if Injector #2 was recently replaced without programming the new calibration code into the ECU.

  3. Physically locate fuel injector #2 on the engine block and read the calibration code (QR string) printed on the injector body.

  4. Connect a diagnostic tool (such as John Deere Service ADVISOR) to read the calibration code currently stored in the ECU for cylinder #2 and compare it to the physical code printed on the injector.

Repair steps

  1. Connect Diagnostic Tool

    Hook up the John Deere Service ADVISOR (or equivalent capable scan tool) to the machine's diagnostic port.

  2. Reprogram Calibration Code

    If the code stored in the ECU does not match the physical code on Injector #2, use the diagnostic tool to manually enter the correct calibration string.

  3. Replace Injector

    If the calibration code matches but the fault persists, or if the injector has failed internally, Injector #2 must be replaced.

  4. Program New Injector

    Upon installing a new injector, you must use the diagnostic tool to program the new injector's specific calibration code into the ECU. Failure to do so will cause the 000652.13 code to return.

  5. Clear Codes and Test

    Clear the inactive fault codes from the ECU, restart the engine, and verify that the code does not return and the engine runs smoothly.
