   Physically inspect the fuel injector installed in cylinder #4 to ensure it is the correct OEM part number for your specific engine model

   Verify that the correct calibration code (trim code/QR code) printed on the injector was entered into the ECU, especially if the injector was recently replaced

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect John Deere Service ADVISOR (or a compatible heavy-duty diagnostic scanner) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Read Injector Data

   Navigate to the ECU programming/calibration section and read the current calibration code programmed for cylinder #4.

   Compare Codes

   Compare the programmed code in the ECU to the physical calibration code printed on the top/side of the cylinder #4 fuel injector.

   Reprogram (If Applicable)

   If the code in the ECU is incorrect, invalid, or missing, use the diagnostic tool to input the correct calibration string for the injector.

   Replace Injector (If Applicable)

   If the physical injector is the wrong part number for the engine, or if it has failed internally and cannot be calibrated, remove the fuel lines and retaining clamps, extract the incorrect injector, and install a correct, genuine OEM replacement.

   Program New Injector

   If a new injector is installed, you must program its new calibration code into the ECU.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Clear the 000654.02 fault code from the ECU, start the engine, and verify that the code does not return and the engine runs smoothly.
