John Deere 655.13 – ECU: Injector Number 5 Calibration Fault

   Verify Recent Service History: Determine if Injector #5 or the Engine ECU was recently replaced. If an injector was swapped without programming its new trim code into the ECU, this code will immediately trigger.

   Read the Physical Code: Locate Cylinder #5 (cylinders are typically numbered starting from the front/FEAD belt to the rear/flywheel). Write down the serial number and calibration QR code printed on the top or side of the injector.

   Compare with ECU Data: Connect a diagnostic scan tool (e.g., John Deere Service Advisor, Cojali Jaltest, or equivalent) and navigate to the injector calibration screen. Compare the code physically printed on Injector #5 with the code currently stored in the ECU for Cylinder #5.

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Plug your diagnostic scan tool into the machine's diagnostic port and turn the ignition key to the ON position (do not start the engine).

   Navigate to Calibrations

   Open the diagnostic software and navigate to the "Tests and Calibrations" tab, then select "Injector Calibration".

   Select Cylinder 5

   Choose the option to "Change Information" for Injector #5.

   Enter the Trim Code

   Input the new injector serial number and calibration code exactly as you wrote it down from the physical injector. Note: For John Deere Service Advisor, you typically only enter the last eight digits of the serial number (e.g., if the serial is 01S58491, enter that). Entering more than eight digits may cause the ECU to reject the code.

   Write to ECU

   Click the button to "Write" or "Save" the injector codes to the ECU.

   Power Cycle

   Once the software confirms a successful write, turn the machine's key to the OFF position. Wait at least 2 minutes for the ECU to fully power down and commit the changes to memory.

   Verify Repair

   Turn the machine back on, start the engine, and verify that the active 000655.13 Diagnostic Trouble Code has cleared.
