John Deere 656.13 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Injector Number 6 Calibration Fault

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) detects that the calibration string programmed for cylinder #6 is missing, invalid, or does not match the expected format.    Locate cylinder #6 and find the alphanumeric calibration code (QR/Trim code) printed directly on the top or side of the injector body.

   Use a diagnostic scan tool to view the current injector code programmed into the ECU for cylinder #6 and compare it to the physical code printed on the injector to confirm the mismatch.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect a compatible heavy-duty diagnostic scan tool (such as John Deere Service ADVISOR, Cojali Jaltest, or TEXA) to the machine's 9-pin diagnostic port.

   Establish communication

   Turn the machine's ignition to the ON position (engine off) and establish communication with the Engine Control Unit (ECU).

   Navigate to programming menu

   Navigate to the "System Data" or "Parameters" menu and select the "Injector Coding" or "Trim Code Programming" function.

   Select cylinder

   Select Cylinder #6 from the menu.

   Enter calibration code
