John Deere 84.15 – Front Chassis Module (SFA): Tractor Wheel Speed Received During Front Axle Suspension Calibration

The control module detected that the tractor was moving (receiving a wheel speed signal) while a calibration routine for the Triple-Link Suspension (TLS) front axle or cab suspension was being performed. Calibration procedures require the tractor to be completely stationary.

   Verify Tractor State: Ensure the tractor is completely stopped, the engine is running at the specified RPM for calibration, and the reverse drive lever (shuttle) is in the Neutral or Park position.

   Check for Ghost Signals: If the tractor is stationary but the code still triggers, use a diagnostic tool to monitor the live data from the wheel speed sensor. If it shows a speed reading while parked, the sensor or its wiring harness is faulty.

   Inspect Wiring: Check the wiring harness leading to the wheel speed sensor on the axle/transmission for chafing, corrosion, or loose connectors.

   Halt the Calibration

   Stop the tractor completely and apply the park brake.

   Reset the Module

   Turn the ignition switch OFF, wait a few seconds, and turn it back ON to clear the active diagnostic trouble code and reset the SFA/CSC control module.

   Restart Calibration

   Navigate through the CommandCenter display to the TLS / Suspension calibration menu and restart the calibration routine, ensuring the tractor does not roll or move during the process.

   Sensor Replacement (If Applicable)

   If the calibration continues to fail because the module falsely detects movement: Locate the wheel speed sensor on the wheel hub or axle housing. Disconnect the electrical harness. Remove the retaining bolt and pull the old sensor out. Install the new sensor, secure the bolt, and reconnect the harness. Clear the codes and re-run the suspension calibration.
