John Deere 926.03 – SCO: Stepper Motor for E-SCV XIII, Supply Voltage Too High
Issue description
The system has detected that the supply voltage (BAT) for the stepper motor of Electronic Selective Control Valve 13 (E-SCV XIII) has risen above 16 volts. Excessive voltage can damage the internal components of the valve. As a protective measure, the control software will limit or completely disable the function of the affected selective control valve.

Check the cause
Monitor voltage at the stepper motor input to confirm if it is actively spiking above 16 volts
Inspect the wiring harness and connections routing to the E-SCV XIII stepper motor for any signs of a short to power (chafed wires touching a higher voltage source)
Verify that the power supply from the SCO module to the stepper motor is stable and within the required voltage range
Inspect all electrical connectors at the valve and the SCO module for corrosion, looseness, or bent pins
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery to prevent further electrical damage during repair.
Repair Wiring
If the diagnostic checks revealed a short to power in the harness, repair or replace the damaged section of the wiring.
Clean Connections
Clean and secure any loose or corroded electrical connections at the E-SCV XIII and the SCO module.
Replace Faulty Power Supply/Module
If the SCO module or voltage regulator is internally shorted and outputting excessive voltage to the valve, the module itself will need to be replaced.
Replace the Stepper Motor
If the high voltage condition has burnt out the stepper motor, or if the motor has an internal short causing the fault, remove the faulty E-SCV stepper motor and install a replacement.
Recalibrate and Test
Reconnect power, clear the fault codes, and cycle the SCV controls to ensure the voltage stays within the normal operating range and the valve functions properly.
